Unique Cedar from Port Orford, OR
Named after the westernmost town in the continental US, Port Orford Cedar is likely the hardest Cedar that grows in this country. This gives it a clear, rich tone. It is also the most the durable and resistant to moisture. The scent of this wood still lingers as I haven't finished the inside, much. Just enough to give it some protection from moisture and to help smooth out the bore in the tone chamber.
This instrument has plenty of volume and the key of Gm has, to me, a more "upbeat" feeling. I think a lot of other people feel that way, as well. See what you think with the sound samples below.
