Deep, Haunting Tone, Beautiful Spalting, D-Minor
Grown in the Northwest, usually a fairly plain wood that is used for making items from molding to musical instruments. The spalting really makes this wood interesting. My supplier in Oregon offered some of this wood a while back and I couldn't resist purchasing it.Lots of people love low tones and a Dm drone played in an area with natural reverb or through electronic reverb can give you chill bumps.
Make no mistake about it, this flute is a handful. Not for the faint of heart. It's big. I heard someone call a drone like this an "aircraft carrier". ;-) If you can handle it, you will be greatly rewarded.
