Side view of the mouthpiece and Mammoth Ivory Eagle fetish. The Tamarind trees are the same ones where we get the delicious fruit. This wood comes from an orchard in South East Asia.
Close-up of the Mammoth Ivory Eagle. You can also see one of the instances where I filled a bug hole with crushed turquoise. Voids in wood from trees that have died naturally are unavoidable. Filling them with a mixture of crushed turquoise and two part epoxy add to the fascinating beauty of woodwork.
A view of the front, right hand side showing the voids filled with Turquoise as well as the end caps which are made from South American Rosewood and Black and White Ebony.
View of the front, left hand side of this flute. Notice the direction holes. They are placed in the flute to bring the fundamental up to the proper pitch (F#m). The four holes also represent the four directions. The lines in the wood are created by the natural decomposition process after the tree has reached the end of it's natural life.
